Founders Day, May 4, 2008
SJBC celebrated Founder's Day on Sunday, May 4, with guest Minister Dr. Leslie Braxton, Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church, Seattle, Washington, and presentations to the family of the Founding Pastor, Rev. Burnie C. McCarley. Mother Janie Peterson, Mother Ruth Brown and Mother Rebecca Savage-Brown were presented with flowers and tokens of love and appreciation during Sunday morning worship service. Rev. McCarley's successor of 29 years, Rev. Bennett W. Smith, Sr. was also recognized. Sister Marilyn Smith, Minister Terette Smith, and Bro.
